A. You need a valid passport
• A legal birth certificate
• A valid drivers license
• Proof of divorce or death certificate (if applicable)
• Proof of residency of respective country
• Two witnesses present at the ceremony

A. 2 days.

A. Total cost is US $284, but if prior to the wedding either party was a resident for (15) fifteen days, the cost would be US $40.00

Q. What legal documents do I need to get married?

A. You need a valid passport
• Birth certificate along with additional photo identification
• If applicable, proof of divorce or death certificate
• Two witnesses present at the ceremony

A. Completed documents should be taken to the Ministry of Justice between the hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm Mondays through Thursday and on Fridays 8am – 3pm

Q. What legal documents do I need to get married?

A. A valid passport with pages showing relevant details
• Copy of birth certificate with raised seal
• Proof of marital status; proof of divorce or death certificate
• Copies of passport pages of witnesses

Q. How long do I need to stay in the destination before I get married?

A. All documents should be submitted one month prior to wedding date.

BAHAMAS

Bahamas

Q. What legal documents do I need to get married?

A. A Government issued photo identification issued in the country where both parties reside and evidence of the date of arrival in the Bahamas
• Proof of marital status, proof of divorce or death certificate
• If US citizen, a declaration must be sworn before a U.S Consul at the American Embassy, Nassau, Bahamas
• If citizen or resident of any other country, a declaration must be sworn before a Notary Public or other authorized to administer oaths in that country and must accompany the application for the marriage license

Q. Where do I submit these documents?

A. Marriage licenses are issued at the Office of the Registrar General in Nassau on Mondays at 9:30am – 4:30pm Mondays to Fridays Couples who would like to be married on an outer island can obtain a Marriage License at the Commissioner’s Office on that island. (No need to go to Nassau).

A. A valid passport or certified copies of birth certificates
• A copy of marriage/death certificate. If divorced, an Original Decree Absolute or a copy of the final judgment

A. If neither party is a citizen of Barbados the cost is US $50.00 and US $12.50 in Barbados Postage Stamp.

• Proof of marital status, married or divorced documentation
• Two witnesses needed

Q. What legal Documents do I need to get married?

A. Two weeks prior to the wedding, a Notice of Intended Marriage should be filed with the Register General with all applicable fees
• Proof of divorce or death certificate must accompany the Notice of Intended Marriage

Q. How long do I need to stay in the destination before I can get married?

A. Parties to the Intended Marriage are not required to be resident.

A. The total cost will be US $243.00 to be accompanied with the application of Intended Marriage.

Q. What legal Documents do I need to get married?

A. Copies of passport and birth certificates
• Proof of good conduct
• Proof of single status, e.g. letter from pastor or parent
• Divorce or death certificate if applicable

Q. How long do I need to stay in the destination before I can get married?

A. Either party has to be there for one week and a written request from the Governor of Bonaire at least two months in advance along with three passport photographs of the bride and groom and all the above mentioned documents.

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

British Virgin Islands

A. Passport or birth certificate and photo identification
• Proof of marriage or death certificate, if applicable • Two witnesses

A. A three days waiting period

Q. How much does it cost?

A. The cost varies. If in residence for one day the total cost is US $110. If in residence for fifteen (15) days the cost is US $50. Additionally, if married within the Registrar’s office the cost is US $35 and outside US $100.00

CAYMAN ISLANDS

• Cayman Islands International Immigration Department Pink Slip showing proof of entry or ship boarding pass

A. A visit to the Ministry of Community Development, Gender Affairs and Information, Government Headquarters, Roseau to obtain an application form (Form G) the form must be completed by both parties before a Magistrate.

• Witnesses must request a temporary tourist permit from the Lt. Governor
• Original documents other than Dutch and English must be translated into Dutch by a sworn official and notarized
• Unmarried persons must present a declaration of marital status not older than three days
• Six witnesses if marriage is performed outside the Marriage Hall

A. A letter must be sent to the Territorial Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands in St. Thomas or St Croix requesting a marriage license
• The application has to be notarized

Q. How long do I need to stay in the destination before I can get married?

A. There is no residency period. Once the application is received there is an (8) eight day waiting period but the couple does not need to be on the island during that time.
