GLAMOUR DMC CREATES A FIRST FOR MEETINGS & INCENTIVES
“COMPETE WITH A CAUSE”
Over fifteen years ago, the team at Glamour DMC launched its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme – “Partnership with a Mission” with the sole aim of reaching out to community to lend a hand. Prior to this, the Directors have always helped schools, churches, children’s homes and homes for the aged informally. “We reached out to our travel partners, meeting & incentive organizers and clients to join hands with us to support individuals and institutions which need assistance. “The response was as astounding as many persons came on board.” Said

With each major proposal that is sent out, the team researches the interests of our clients for synergy and presents the company’s CSR Programme. As a result, there have been many beneficiaries. One school received a new computer lab, refurbished library with books which were brought by individuals, additions to the food & nutrition lab among other gifts. The items were procured in Jamaica and participants spent a day completing the job on campus. Others have engaged in tree-planting programmes, bringing educational toys and clothing for wards in children’s homes. Another company partnered with “Food for the Poor” to build homes for the indigent.
Additionally, Glamour DMC has always maintained a lively and energizing team building programme which many team members have enjoyed. The aim is to have individuals bond together, compete and enjoy themselves to the various genres of Jamaican music which is positively infectious.
Participants have built rafts out of bamboo or boats and floated them. With a reasonable budget, famous cricketers, Jamaican Bobsledders and other celebrities have been invited to interact as well as compete. The results of these activities have been positive and every expectation exceeded.
Recently, an incentive organizer with a limited budget tossed the team at Glamour DMC, the rider of pulling off a fusion of both Community outreach and team building activity. Hence the combination was created as – “Compete for a Cause”.
Team members observed as Jamaican drummers displayed their cultural talents in drumming and then were given brief lessons. Jamaican Dancers demonstrated their dexterity to strains of Reggae music to the entertainment of everyone. Participants, were given dance lessons before the real competition. Teams competed in drumming and dancing which created much fun and laughter. Prizes were awarded to the top three teams which represented monetary donations to three educational institutions on island, with varying needs.
Partnership with a Mission invites interested parties to be a part of Glamour’s ongoing philanthropic efforts. “Compete with a Cause” is intended to ensure that everyone has fun while participating and exposure to our great Jamaican culture.
