Marriage Requirements for Turks & Caicos

Documents Required
To obtain a marriage license, you must present:

  • Valid Passport (Photo ID)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of No Impediment (from your country of residence)
  • Affidavit of Single Status (provided by Registrar General’s Office)
  • Divorce Decree (if previously married)
  • Death Certificate (if widowed) with proof of prior marriage
  • Legal Status in TCI (e.g., work permit or immigration status)
  • Arrival and Departure Stamps (from TCI Immigration)
  • Two (2) Declaration Forms
  • Marriage Application Form (available from Registrar General or licensed marriage officer)
  • Parental Consent (if under 21 years old)

    • All documents must be notarized and sealed.

    If documents are not in English, they must be translated and notarized by the appropriate consulate.

    Residency Requirement

    • You must be present in the Turks and Caicos for at least 48 hours before submitting your marriage license application.

    Cruise ship passengers may be granted a same-day marriage license with a special exemption by the Governor.
